#GSATIFAMILY: STAFF IN REVIEW, ISSUE NO. 13
We at GSATi take pride in our staff and the hard work they put forth for us and our clients daily. To show our appreciation, we would like to present to you our new blog, #GSATiFamily: Staff in Review, a peek into the lives and interests of our staff. This series highlights the parts of our staff that makes them exactly who they are: dedicated, intriguing individuals we are proud to call family. Read on and discover this week’s featured staff member: Brenda Raley, Senior Director of Training and Development.
DL: Name and position with GSATi?
BR: Brenda Raley, SR. Director of Training and Development.
DL:And how long have you worked with GSATi?
BR: Officially since October 1, 2016. But as a board member since the inception 8 years ago.
DL: Oh how wonderful! It’s rare in the industry to find individuals in a company who’ve been there since day one, but we know you’re an exception ;) Where did you receive your education and/or experience in our field?
BR: I have spent the better part of my career engaged in training activities both in the field as well as developing training for the last twenty some years. In a prior life in the hospitality field I worked with a team of folks passionate about providing training to hotel owners and their teams in a franchise environment. Today that audience has switched to our clients in the Direct Selling Industry. A few of the subjects may have changed, but the adult learning needs and wants have not.
DL: That’s so awesome! I bet that was a whirlwind of a job full of memories. Speaking of memories, what would you consider your greatest accomplishment during your time as a member of the GSATi Family?
BR: Finally getting our GSATi U up and running with a robust array of educational content. In other words, something for everyone. And then more importantly, engaging the team in the ‘what’s next’? dialogue to build true development opportunities within GSATi.
DL: An awesome contribution. So, what’s the most fun thing you have done at or with GSATi?
BR: I loved our ‘Office Dares’ game during the 8th anniversary celebration. I really got to see our GSATi family’s fun-loving, crazy and COMPETITIVE side.
DL: What about your at-home family? Any pets or kids?
BR: Yep, Three grown kids and six grandkids. In other words, I’ve been around awhile. Dylan, our mixed beagle, is the family’s latest addition.
DL: Oh, how fun! I bet you guys have a great time with that new pup! So, what is your favorite local restaurant or business on the square that you like to visit when you’re here in town?
BR: I’d have to say that it would be a toss-up between LSA Burger and Pizza Snob.
DL: Oh man, both of those are great! Alright, so this question is a bit more for our developers, but I must ask your preference; PHP or .NET and why?
BR: EIEIO… I love them all.
DL: Nice! Okay, two more questions. First of last, what's your fondest office memory since you've been here?
BR: Twilight tunes on the square this past summer. Very fun!
DL: Same! I love the Twilight Tunes. Such a great time to hang with family. Alright, last question: why choose GSATi?
BR: Because everyone at GSATi is an extension of my family. Where else would I work? J
