DL: Name and position with GSATi?

JC: John Cockerham, Business Analyst.

DL:And how long have you worked with GSATi?

JC: I started back in May 2014 as GSATi’s first-ever intern, so about three years now.

DL:  That’s way longer than I’d thought! Where did you receive your education and/or experience in our field?

JC: I received my Bachelor’s in Marketing and Spanish from the University of North Texas.

DL: Ah yes, another UNT Alum! What would you consider your greatest accomplishment during your time as a member of the GSATi Family?

JC: I’d have to say learning how to successfully execute and communicate a client’s requests and needs. Seeing the translation of their vision from paper to web page in a consistent manner is super rewarding on a personal level. Definitely worth all of the behind the scenes QA work!

DL: Uh, YEAH! I bet it was. So, what’s the most fun thing you have done at or with GSATi?

JC: Man, that’s a hard question. Probably all the Potlucks and team anniversary get togethers we have throughout the year. It’s the perfect opportunity to mingle with people you see daily, or who you only see normally through a computer screen. It’s a nice treat!

DL: I’d have to agree with you on that. Any opportunity to eat with others is always nice.  What about your at-home family? Any pets or kids?

JC: I live here in Denton, and my family is spread out a bit; My parents and youngest brother are in Louisiana with our Pomeranian, Thor, and my older brother Will is in Detroit, MI.

DL: I bet that makes for fun family travel plans! What about your favorite local restaurant or business on the square that you like to visit when you’re here in town?

JC: This is a hard one, there are so many good places to visit on the square! Thai Square for the food and West Oak Coffee for the coffee and afternoon treats! I love going down there for a break every once and a while.

DL: Oh yeah; I love me a good trip to the West Oak.  Alright, so this question is a bit more for our developers, but I have to ask your preference; PHP or .NET and why?

JC: PHP all the waaaaay! Hah, but really – I’m pretty biased towards PHP because that’s the system I work in the most,  plus their content management features make more sense to me as well.

DL: Yeah, I definitely feel that as someone who also works primarily in PHP!  Okay, two more questions.  First of last, what's your fondest office memory since you've been here?

JC:  When we went to Branson last year for a client’s live launch. It was SUCH a great time! We had worked so hard to bring this company to its feet and had worked all day to run their opening event. When we got back to the hotel, we had a little celebration of food, champagne, etc. It was really nice to relish in that glory together with the people who were with you along the way.

DL: That's such a great time! I know you and the rest of your team are hard workers, you deserved that celebration . Alright, last question: Why choose GSATi?

JC:  I know a lot of people say this, but it’s true – GSATi is like family. They are truly transparent about what’s going on with our business so everyone stays on the same page. We’re constantly validated in our decisions and progress as employees, which I really value. There is a lot of comradery in the office and conflict is essentially nonexistent. What more could you ask for?

DL: I couldn’t agree more!

We are so delighted and proud to call John a member of the #GSATiFamily. For staff profiles and more of what we offer here at GSATi, visit www.gsati.com and become a member of the #GSATiFamily today. Friends and clients welcome.
