ESTABLISHING A DIGITAL PRESENCE IS SO FETCH

Believe it or not, there is more to the Internet than watching funny cat videos. We live in an era where a lot of people go online in search a lovely date, decent restaurants, new roommates or a new toupee.  More than a decade ago, having a virtual presence was more of a luxury than a necessity. But today, every business owner must establish their company on the Internet in order be relevant in the commercial world. Yes, having an online presence is so fetch!

The Internet is characterized by its accessibility and flexibility. Hence, it is convenient for consumers to research businesses or continue shopping even after hours. Almost every potential customer goes online at some point to review products and services before deciding to make a purchase. What happens when consumers can’t find you online? Well they will most likely head over to your competitor who has a digital presence and tools to meet their demands. Keep in mind that your customers would rather shop in the comfort of their pajamas or Snuggie than crawl out of bed during actual business hours.

Regardless of the size of your company, you should invest in a website that is visually appealing and has all of the information a customer may need. As you create your business’ website, be sure to keep in mind its purpose and the goals you intend to achieve. Research your competition and prospective customers to get a picture of your proposed site and the demands that need to be met.

Since one of your goals is to increase the visibility of your business, be sure to incorporate social media sites in your digital marketing campaign. According to Forbes, social media allows brands to act like human beings. Each target audience member has their preferred social networking sites, and this gives you more channels for communication to reach your target audience. By posting content on social media, you are creating an opportunity for your customers to conveniently interact with you and learn about your company. The credibility and trust of your brand tends to improve with a high number of social media subscribers.  In addition, developing a social media audience increases traffic to your website.

Blogging is a great strategy to not only keep customers engaged but also to encourage search engines to display your website.  As I mentioned earlier, customers are very likely to research products and services before they invest. The more relevant blog posts and content you make, the more visible your company’s website will be with a related search query. For example, if you own a vegan diner in a particular city and consistently post blogs about vegan food and the vegan lifestyle, your business is more likely to pop out before your competition when a customer enters “vegan restaurants” on a search engine.

Remember, it’s not just about building a digital presence but also maintaining it. Since creating an online presence for your company is not a one-day project, you must continue to update the different platforms and channels that make up your brand. Be on the look out of new social media trends, and constantly monitor your customers and other similar businesses.

Thanks to the Internet, we are now able to reach more people than ever, at any hour of the day. Many companies are successful because they have taken advantage of this technology to make their businesses more visible. Establishing a trustworthy virtual presence may take some time, but it is worth the time and makes a huge impact on your company’s brand awareness and revenue in the long run.
