About a year ago, GSATi transitioned from being a mostly in-office team to an almost 90% remote team. From a few days a week in-office to come-when-you-can for most of our team, the transition has been mostly smooth sailing. But that was not without some serious preparation, teamwork, and a good crew of team members that worked hard to make sure we stayed productive and successful. Let’s dive into what it takes to keep a remote ship, or ships, afloat.

1on1 meetings are the perfect opportunity to build a healthy relationship between management and other team staff members. When executed properly, companies can learn and grow from these routine check-ins based on feedback generated from these meetings. But, when misled or unfulfilled, these opportunities can turn into disaster areas. Team Members can develop feelings of resentment or neglect, which can result in poor performance later on down the road. For the last sixteen years, the Denton Main Street Association has played host to an array of historic events that bring visitors from near and far to our downtown square, including a picturesque time hop into a world of timeless autos and artwork, the Denton Arts and Autos. This year, the GSATi family, in partnership with the Alzheimer's Association, took to the booths to raise funds for team Represent Denton, a community-based team scheduled to walk in the Walk to End Alzheimer's - Grandscape. I have lived in Denton County since 2002 when I first moved to Lewisville. After a brief stay there I moved to Denton and began to raise my family here for the next 10 years. Denton is a fabulous city and the company I work at, GSATi, has been a blessing in many ways. In my time in Denton, I have made it a point to get involved with City/County service by acquainting myself with local leaders, and offering to help in any way that I can. I decided to be a part of working for solutions, versus being a part of the problem by not getting involved. That service started first with the DCTA Citizen Advisory Team.
